How to reach Nashik and Trimbakeshwar ? Navigating millions of pilgrims requires reliable transit planning. Lets discover the best flight, rail, highway, and local feeder routes into Simhastha 2027 festival zone.

How to Reach Nashik & Trimbakeshwar (Kumbh Mela 2026-2027)

Simhastha Kumbha 2027 is going to be organised in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar, Maharashtra. During this period, lakhs of devotees will travel from different parts of India to participate in Amrit Snan, visit temples and experience the spiritual atmosphere of Kumbha Mela.

To manage such a large number of visitors, proper arrangements for roads, parking, transportation and crowd management are important. Visitors travelling by private vehicles, buses, trains and other modes of transportation will need to follow the routes and instructions provided by the authorities.

The main entry routes into Nashik have been planned from different directions so that vehicles can approach the city through designated corridors. Depending on the traffic situation and availability of parking, vehicles may be diverted towards specific parking areas before entering the main Kumbha Mela locations.

Nashik is well-connected by rail, road, and air via the Nashik Airport at Ozar. However, due to limited regional flights at Ozar, flying into Mumbai or Pune is highly recommended for a smoother journey. Both cities serve as major transit hubs with extensive domestic and international flight networks, offering seamless onward connections to Nashik via frequent trains, luxury buses, or private cabs. Your best transport choice depends heavily on your starting point, arrival time, and final destination within the Nashik region.

The Nashik Kumbh Mela officially begins with its flag-hoisting ceremony on 31 October 2026, with the peak crowds and Shahi Snan (royal baths) scheduled for August and September 2027.
During these high-pilgrimage periods, massive volumes of travellers will heavily impact road traffic, local transit, and railway station access. To ensure a smooth trip:
