Shahi Snan & Auspicious Dates

Shahi Snan & Auspicious Dates ( Parva Snan) is one of the most important religious activities associated with Kumbha Mela. During the designated bathing periods, devotees gather at the prescribed locations to take a holy bath in accordance with their religious beliefs. The ritual is considered spiritually significant and is an important reason why pilgrims travel from different parts of the country to attend the event.

The bathing ceremonies also involve saints, Naga Sadhus and members of different Akhadas, who participate in traditional processions and religious activities. These ceremonies represent the long-standing traditions of Kumbha Mela and attract the attention of devotees and visitors. Since bathing schedules and arrangements are determined by the relevant authorities, visitors should follow official announcements and instructions while planning their journey.

Significance of Godavari River

The Godavari River plays an important role in the religious identity of Nashik and Trimbakeshwar. It is considered a sacred river in Hindu tradition and is closely connected with religious rituals, temple visits and pilgrimage activities. Ramkund in Nashik is one of the important sacred bathing locations associated with the river.

During Simhastha Kumbha, the river becomes a major centre of religious activity as devotees gather to perform prayers and participate in holy bathing rituals. The importance of the Godavari River also highlights the need to maintain cleanliness and protect the surrounding environment. Responsible behaviour by visitors is essential to preserve the river’s religious and environmental importance for future generations.

Overall, Simhastha Kumbha 2027 represents an important occasion for preserving India’s religious traditions and sharing its cultural heritage with people from across the world. Its significance lies in bringing people together through faith, devotion, spirituality and a shared respect for India’s ancient traditions.
